The 10 Commandments of Steve Jobs: How He Changed The World
The world mourns for the loss of a genius, an innovator, and a charismatic leader. And may I quote, the world is "iSad"...grieving for now.
Steve Jobs passed away on October 5, 2011, having suffered from pancreatic cancer for years.
In an article from Newsweek magazine, Steve Jobs is hailed not just as a prominent figure in technology, but also as an Icon in Business, having pushed Apple beyond while he served as its Chief Executive Officer.
Jobs is described as the "wizard among the muggles" and an "American genius" who has changed the world.
The rest of this article lists the exact words printed on Newsweek's September 5, 2011 issue entitled "Exit the King". These commandments could be among the many important things that Steve Jobs contributed in his lifetime.
"The 10 Commandments of Steve"
1) Go for Perfect
Steve Jobs sweats the details. The night before the first iPod launched, the Apple staff stayed up all night replacing headphone jacks because Jobs didn't think they were "clicky" enough.
2) Tap the Experts
Steve Jobs hired architect I.M. Pei to design the NeXT logo and recruited Gap's Mickey Drexler to Apple's board before launching the company's retail chain.
3) Be Ruthless
Steve Jobs is as proud of the products he has killed as of the ones he has released. He worked hard on a Palm Pilot clone, only to kill it when he realized cell phones whould eclipse PDAs. That freed up his engineers to develop the iPod.
4) Shun Focus Groups
Jobs famously said "People don't know what they want until you show it to them." So he acts as a one-man foucs group, taking prototype products home and testing them for months.
5) Never Stop Studying
When designing early brochures for Apple, he poured over Sony's use of fonts, layout, and the weight of the paper. Working on the case for the first Mac, he wandered around Apple's parking lot studying the bodywork of German and Italian cars.
6) Simplify
Job's design philosophy is one of the constant simplification. He ordered the iPod's designers to lose all the buttons on early prototypes, including the on/off button. The designers complained, then developed the iconic scroll wheel instead.
7) Keep Teams Small
The original Macintosh team was 100 people; no more, no less. If a 101st person was hired, someone was ditched to make room. Jobs was convinced he could remember the first names of only 100 people.
8) Use More Carrot Than Stick
Steve Jobs is scary, but his charisma is his most powerful motivator. His enthusiasm was the primary reason the original Mac team worked 90-hour weeks for three years making the machine "insanely great".
9) Prototype to the Extreme
Everything Steve Jobs does is exhaustively prototyped: the hardware, the software, even Apple's retail stores. Architects and designers spend a year building a prototype store in a secret warehouse near Apple's headquarters, only to have Jobs scrap the project and start over.

Odesk Withdrawals To BPI: What To Do If Your BPI Bank Account Got Closed
I use BPI as my bank to transfer funds from my oDesk withdrawals.
I made a withdrawal on oDesk and had it transferred to my BPI account which I didn’t know that was already closed for 3 days when I did the transfer.
Normally, it takes about 3-5 banking days for oDesk funds to reach my BPI account. Since I only used my BPI account for oDesk withdrawals, I did not bother to check if I needed to keep a maintaining balance.
Lo and behold, the account needed Ph3,000 to stay alive and I kept withdrawing funds from it without knowing that. To make the story short, the account got closed due to unmaintained balance, and I just made a transfer from an oDesk withdrawal to a closed BPI bank account.
When I did my withdrawal at an ATM, the BPI ATM card was no longer accepted, with an error message saying: “CARD NOT EFFECTIVE”. I had to seek help from the BPI branch where I opened my account, and fortunately, I was able to reactivate the account by making a deposit of Ph3,000.
I was hoping that the fund would get transferred once the account is activated. However, oDesk made a refund for this transaction, and the money that was supposed to be in my BPI account was back to my oDesk “Wallet” after four days from the successful oDesk withdrawal.
I should have known that oDesk does a quick refund without any further request from my end, and I should never have panicked like that. However, I am still very thankful that it happened, as I learned two important things with this story:
• That BPI can be very accommodating in times of trouble; and
• That oDesk is actually prompt in making a refund in case of failed funds transfer from oDesk withdrawals to BPI.

Asbestos Lung Cancer: Mesothelioma & Mesothelioma Lawyers
Asbestos causes lung cancer called mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a rare lung cancer caused by asbestos and asbestos exposure. Asbestos cancer or mesothelioma cancer is more precisely known as malignant mesothelioma. It is a rare form of cancer which develops from mesothelium, our body’s protective lining that covers a number of our internal organs.
Most common would be the outer lining of the internal chest wall and the lungs,a lthough it could also occur in the abdominal cavity’s lining called the peritoneum, the pericardium of the heart or in the tunica vaginalis.
There is only one known cause of mesothelioma: asbestos. Cancer mesothelioma develops in most people who have worked in jobs that brought about asbestos exposure such as asbestos dust or fiber. Those who also had to wash clothes of a family member who got asbestos exposure are also at risk of developing malignant mesothelioma.
Mesothelioma symptoms include chest wall pains, weight loss and shortness of breath caused by pleural effusion. When one experiences any mesothelioma symptom, especially after having been exposed to asbestos, there is a need for diagnosis for malignant mesothelioma through CT-scan, chest X-Ray and confirmation through microscopic examination and biopsy.
Those who developed mesothelioma cancer due to exposure to asbestos in the workplace can seek remedy by consulting mesothelioma lawyers in a reputable mesothelioma law firm. Mesothelioma attorneys know how to seek remedy for your case so that the company that caused your exposure shoulder the medical procedure that you need to treat mesothelioma cancer.
Deciding to take legal action would need you to choose a reliable mesothelioma lawyer from your trusted mesothelia law firm. Asbestos lawsuit can be very dramatic and choosing the best law firm can help you win your case.
There is no better way to stay away from asbestos lung cancer than prevention. Mesothelioma is very rare and the progress on stem cell treatment for mesotheliam cancer is still on its way. Stem cell cure for cancer has always been in the published literature, but there aren't so much written about stem cell cure for mesothelioma yet. The recent studies imply though that blood from menstruation is now a good source of stem cells than embryonic blood, which is put into ethical question.

Eqypt Riots, Cyclone YASI: Top News Tid Bits
My usual routine after waking up in the morning includes watching the news. CCN regularly airs the demonstrations and violence going on in Cairo, Egypt. The scene of civil demonstrators being brutally hurt gives me butterflies in the stomach and it saddens me how in some parts of the world like Egypt, freedom costs so much blood, while freedom in my own country is abused. My heart sinks each time I watch Eqypt riots on tv, and I hope it will end peacefully very soon.
My sister lives in Australia and cyclone YASI hit Queensland, and it worried us a bit. CNN showed how Tully area is damaged so bad, but it was also a pleasant surprise that no one was hurt. Cyclone YASI forecast in Australia must be that excellent, that people were able to vacate areas badly hit by the cyclone YASI. It's good to know that my sister was in Melbourne when the cyclone YASI landed Queensland.
Bad news everywhere, but if there is one good news, it's when Christians and Muslims unite amidst Egypt riots. In this photo, see how the Christians in Cairo protect the Muslims in prayer. Wonderful, isn't it?
On the other hand, there's more than plenty of opportunities to Study Abroad. It might be challenging for some to get scholarships abroad, but good things come to those who wait. There is no better experience than being able to blend in another land's culture, including getting immersed in a different country's educational system.
