Top 10 Universites in Australia and New Zealand: Making the Right Choice

University of Melbourne is located in Victoria and is the second oldest university in Australia.  It is now the Top 1 University in Australia and New Zealand.
I have always played with the idea of pursuing higher studies in Australia or New Zealand.  Aside from not having the time to really pursue any application yet, I also have no idea which schools could offer the best.

I happened to drop by at Fullybooked today when it was raining very hard right after paying my card at Citibank right across Ayala's The Terraces.  While I was browsing some magazines, Reader's Digest's November 2010 issue caught my eyes, as it's cover page had an apple in a picture, with bold white letters "Asia's Top Universities Guide: How to Choose the Right College."

With Time magazine and Newsweek magazine on my hands, a pocket book lighter, I immediately paid the cashier, as it was still raining cats and dogs outside.

The Top 10 Universities of the World are mostly from the United States and the United Kingdom, whilst the Top 10 Universities of the entire Asia are from China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Japan.

If you are just like me, hoping to land a school in Australia or New Zealand sooner than later, this might help you prepare your credentials this early, and so you can start looking for Scholarships abroad!

Top 10 Universities in Australia and New Zealand are:
  1. University of Melbourne - Australia (36th in Global ranking)
  2. Australian National University - Australia (43rd in Global ranking)
  3. University of Sydney - Australia (71st in Global ranking)
  4. University of Adelaide - Australia (73rd in Global ranking)
  5. University of Queensland - Australia (81st in Global ranking)
  6. University of Auckland - New Zealand (145th in Global ranking)
  7. University of New South Wales - Australia (152nd in Global ranking)
  8. Monash University - Australia (178th in Global ranking)
  9. Victoria University of Wellington - New Zealand (226th in Global ranking)
  10. University of Otago - New Zealand (236th in Global ranking)
Still wondering if it is best to study in the 10 Universities in Australia and New Zealand?

It might be good to choose from one of the Top 10 Universities in Asia or
One of the Top 10 Universities of the World

About Mesothelioma: What Mesothelioma Attorneys Can Do?

Workers exposed to asbestos are known to develop lung cancer or the case mesothelioma.
What is mesothelioma? Mesothielioma is a very rare type of cancer that is usually in the abdomen (the peritonerum) or in the lining of the sacs in the chest (the pleura). The most common form is the pleural mesothelioma, which can have symptoms around the chest area. On the other hand, peritoneal mesothelioma (abdomen) can be less common. The organs of the abdomen are usually affected and can result to symptoms like swelling of the abdomen, vomiting, nausea and obstruction of the bowel. The rarest kind of mesothelioma is that which involves the sac that surrounds the heart and is known as pericardial mesothelioma.

Know the common symptoms of mesothelioma: Mesothelioma is deadly

People who have mesothelioma would have complaints of shortness of breath. Chest pains would be common, which is commonly not pleuritic (or that which does not get worse during deep breathing). That is surprising because the pleura is often affected by this condition and would often result to pleuritic pain. Most patients of mesothelioma would be asymptomatic and would need to have a physical exam for the disease to be discovered.

Do You Really Need Facebook and Twitter to Tap Your Target Market?

I saw a very good presentation by Hubspot. com.  It is a compliation of over 50 marketing graphs and charts based on original data gathered and research from various sources like its analysis of 2,500 business customers, data from Website Grader, Facebook Grader and Facebook Grader.
Hubspot charts.  Twitter ranks next to your company's Blog as critical priorities for effective inbound marketing.  LinkedIn, Facebook, and Youtube follow close.  source: http://www.hubspot.com/charts
According to this report, a company's Blog tops as the most important SEO material your company to have and should update.  Next to that is Twitter.  Twitter and your company's blog should go hand in hand.  The more often you update your business blog, the higher the chance that you will reach your target market through Twitter.  Facebook is also highly important, followed by LinkedIn.

Why Can't We Catch Liars?...Calculating the Costs of White Lies and Hard Truths...

I have hypersensitivity....and I am most allergic to liars...

To some people, lying is embedded in their culture...as something of the norm...as something that's part of a day to day conversation or situation.

To these kinds of people, as long as it does not kill you, lying is not a point of debate. It makes things 'easier' for them to achieve things. For them, the cost of telling the truth is higher than telling a lie. Only to realize in the end that the Price they have to pay is much higher.

On the contrary, there are some who are born to crave for hard truth. Knowing the truth sets them free. It is so difficult for these kinds of people to accept the fact that some people win for cheating on the game board. To them, hard truth is the only thing acceptable to keep the world turning.

Is it religion?

..is it culture?

...or is it more of society's upbringing?

Between White Lies or Hard Truths, I still think the latter is the only thing that defines fairness and justice...and probably makes the world a little happier and safer.

The worst anyone can do is to get something out of deceit. Some people can take these so called 'achievements' out of trickery or fraud and manage to flaunt as if it was part of the process. Perhaps trying to make sense to the Machiavellian thinking that "The end justifies the means".

Yes, the mirror has two faces and there are two sides of the coin...and for me to be a little inch happier, I just need to accept the fact that the world is not a perfect place to live in. That I have to learn to live with mendacious behavior and co-exist with such lower beings (to coin them as such since I deem those who value Hard Truths as creatures of higher values).

Still...it's not too idealistic to wish....that hopefully such cheat, con artist, deceiver, deluder, dissimulator, equivocator, fabler, fabricator...or whatever Wikipedia or the world calls them....would be pacified and not be too oblivious to the consequences of such compulsive actions anymore.

Dare to ask why?

...for "what goes around comes around".

Another blog entry that speaks as a writing exercise.

Noynoy Aquino Inauguration: 15th Philippine President

Bloggers and freelance web writers wake up late, and sleep late.

Damn! I woke up minutes too late for the 12NN, June 30 Inauguration of the 15th Philippine President, as mandated by the Philippine Constitution. The moment I tuned in, Noynoy Aquino was already marching on the grounds of the Malacanang Palace, in an honor salute by the Presidential Security Group (PSG). As he marched with the guards, the band was playing the instrumental tune of Leron leron sinta, and the lyrics of that song goes...

    Leron leron sinta,
Buko ng papaya, Dala-dalay buslo, Sisidlan ang bunga, Pagdating sa dulo, Nabali ang sanga, Kapos ka paralan, Humanap ng iba.

In my opinion though, it must have been thought out so well to play that tune. Indeed, it's a "kapos kapalaran"(misfortune) for the previous administration to have ended...and the "buslo" (basket) that they have been filling should not be filled with the people's hard-earned "bunga"(fruits) anymore.

I share the new hopes in the people's eyes, proud and excited to see what Noynoy and his team can do for our country. But it makes a lot of sense to say that he can never do it alone. Change should start from each one of the Filipino people. For every single finger that a Filipino points at Noynoy, there are 4 corresponding fingers pointed at one's own self.

Hence, as June 30 marks the new beginning of a new administration, it is sealed in a prayer that the Philippines will rise again. Out with the old, in with the new!

As I missed Noynoy Aquino's inaugural speech, allow me to share the transcripts I found online, in case someone missed it too. So here it goes...(can be dowloaded for better reading).
