marriage...and my being allergic to it

my family is quite a mess...
...my parents had a melodramatic separation when i was 16 years old...

i practically spent my college life sulking about my parents' problematic marriage...and i hated my father when i learned he had a mistress...

...quite a normal story these days...

a decade has passed...and it seems like i have forgotten all the pains it caused me. i get to see his mistress every single day...and it does not bother me the way it used to cause my heart to break...nor does it burn my heart anymore to see my half siblings...2 innocent kids brought out to this world out of wedlock...a boy and a girl.

brilliant....so my family is quite extraordinary...

i live with my mother...and she is LEGALLY SEPARATED from my father...annullment is on its way...and makes me think...

IS MARRIAGE essential?
should i worry about not getting married at all since everyone SHOULD get married to conform to our society?

On the other hand, isn't marriage just a technical way of protecting one's assets...in case a man and a woman gets fed up with each other after decades of being together.
...or a binding agreement that begets a man to a woman's offsprings...

Simply put...marriage can be a relief when evrything's in top shape....but can be a pain in the ass when goes haywire.

IS there any place in the world which makes a marriage contract renewable after a certain span of time? in such way, it would be easy to dispose of your husband once you get tired of him...and alas, for all the POLYGAMOUS men out there, it's such a joy for you can right away cease to renew with your current wife if you happen to fall in love with another woman while still in your "CURRENT CONTRACT"...

but meanwhile, as the Philippine Jurisprudence does not have this provision yet (and I really hope there will be soon...), it is then mandatory for each and everyone to think a hundred million times whether or not you and your current partner are compatible in so many significant ways before you tie the knot. The only constant thing is CHANGE...and your loving girlfriend/boyfriend today might be your worst nightmare sooner or later.

But is MARRIAGE ABOLUTE for every relationship there is?
For Richer or for Poorer, 'til the absence of a renewed marriage contract do us part.
